  • Help with Adobe Animate

All the greetings!

I have a question about Adobe Animate. It would be great if someone can help with that.

Right now my team is working on a promo trailer for a game. The most animations are made in Spine but the main scene we decided to do in Animate.

In our scenario we need to swing branches on a tree. The animation should be slow and smooth. But when we implemented this part of a trailer we saw the lags. A branch doesn’t move as smooth as we expected. We tried simpler examples and it seems that such behavior concerned with rotation of object for a small angle.

Is there a way to improve the animation?

Thanks

Is the branch animated with Adobe Animate or Spine?

How does it look in the application? There is no interpolation on the gif files, so depending on the framerate in the gif, it will look choppy. In Spine the animation is interpolated (unless you turn interpolation off).
When you scrub the timeline in Spine you will not see interpolation unless you are holding down SHIFT. Not holding down SHIFT will show you a similar result to what you have in the gif.

The branch animated with Adobe Animate. The gif file plays as well as in Animate. And as I understood it doesn't have an interpolation so we cannot achieve a smooth animation in Animate. Now we reworked branches with After Effects. I know that Spine animates perfectly because all game objects in our project are made in Spine. The reason of using Adobe tools is more comfortable work with big number of assets within one scene.
