I can't use Spine after migrating to a new macbook. It just shows as black the UI no matter what I do.

Reinstalling didn't work. Changing the versions didn't work. Command line update said you have to reinstall to use beta versions, then it says the same thing after reinstalling.

Sorry you are having trouble. We haven't seen this before!

If Spine says you need to reinstall, you'll need to download the latest installer, then reinstall. If you are reinstalling with the same older installer, that is why it still says you need to reinstall to get the latest version.

Please let us know if you still have trouble after reinstalling the latest Spine launcher (which is 4.1.04).

I did a reinstall with the installer after a fresh install of the OS too. I think there are some hidden files or settings, else this doesn't make sense as it is working on my downstairs laptop (both M1 Max 64GB models) How do I completely nuke it?

Secondly, it's not all black like the screenshot shows, you can see menu in really dark blocky font, but the menus are invisible.

I reinstalled JRE, Java 17 too as I saw that in the package this is Java dependent. That didn't help. Maybe Monterey hates some UI dependency?

All of my other programs work flawlessly in my stack (Affinity/ZBrush/PS). It's isolated to spine.

Also, if you have an older installer, that might help. 4.0.36 works and allows beta 4.1.22 on the other laptop. I am hesitant to update that now to try and replicate.

Are you runnijg on an external screen? Do you have a color profile enabled?

No, and no. Inverting colors doesn't show things any better either. :/ It's working on version 3, anything version 4 doesn't work. (I can kind of guess the menus even though they are black) I just updated launcher on other 12. 3 Monterey laptop to the latest version and it does not replicate unfortunately. It's pointing to some hidden setting causing it or missing dependency.

Of course, I have all my files on v4 version, haven't used v3 for a long time.

Now I see in UI 4.1.04-legacy. Not seen that before. Maybe that's because in v3. This is such a weird problem.

I assume you are the person who also write in via email? For anyone else reading this, we already had an exchange and I'm trying to reproduce it at the moment. It's not an issue with missing files or hidden settings, but the texture upload to the GPU failing. That most likely means there's a driver bug in the Monterey version that's being run. The other machine with Monterey where it works may actually be on a different minor version which could explain GPU driver differences.
