  • Cintiq monitor breaks the program?

I've been using Spine in my old setup for the past several months without any issues. I've just purchased a new PC and reinstalled Spine. It initially works fine right after install on my main monitor and continues to work after I pull it over to my Cintiq 16 monitor, which was a part of my old setup. However, if I close the program while its still open on the Cintiq monitor, when I go to reopen Spine it gets stuck on the initial loading splash screen and won't open at all. I ultimately have no choice but to force quit and completely uninstall/reinstall Spine in order to get it to work again. I haven't seen this problem mentioned anywhere else and I have no idea how to go about fixing it. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, this sounds quite weird! Could you please post your spine.log file after/while this happens to check if it has any useful information? The forum will redact your personal information.

Hello Erika. I've checked my log file after each time it fails to load and it doesn't appear to have any additional information except for the basic program version and account info. No accounts of any crashing or errors. This is what it currently says (as of right now its still working after another reinstall):

Hello! Could you perhaps try the solution presented in this thread?
Spine3.8以降のウィンドウサイズ変更による不具合の問い合わせ

If you still have the problem, in 3.8.88 you can edit your prefs.json file and set the monitor value to -2. For example, open the file in a text editor, find monitor:0, and change it to monitor:-2. With that setting Spine will not attempt to reopen on the same monitor it was closed on. We would rather fix the problem, but at least this way Spine will run for you.

That seems to be the solution. It still initially opens on the primary monitor, but it opens regardless of where I close it now. Thank you very much!
