As the title said, I once work with Unity particle system and it work well with 2d sprite in 2d environment.
So obviously Spine 'll do well if we have a particle system.
I use Spine for work which unrelated to Unity (exported gif image) so Unity particle system didn't helpful at all.
For now animate every single particle manually is a pain in the ass.
It dont need to be like Unity's particle system, It can some thing which can generate 2d object and rotate and spin and translate automatically and randomly.
