As I could remember, Krita has problem reading PSD clipping mask correctly. If you want to go this indirect route, there is a better chance using Affinity Photo/Designer but its script seems broken. At least the last time I tried it, doesn't work.
Another issue is that, when you "save as" PSD in CSP and you forget to save back to CLIP format then keep updating the illustration, you lose some CSP specific file format features after closed the CSP app. The behavior is a little different from PS that when you save as other format, it still think the file has unsaved changes and remind you to save the PSD format version.
I also tried to coded a standalone PSD to Spine Export app specifically for use with CSP using some 3rd party PSD SDK sometimes ago but just found that the PSD output from CSP is a little different than normal PSD. The app can't open it natively unless I open and re-save it in PS. Its very sad for the CSP situation.
